Moonlake Capital launches a vehicle to invest 600 million in toxic brick
Moonlake Capital bets on Spain. The investment group, based in Madrid, will launch a vehicle to invest 600 million euros in large portfolios with non-performing loans in Madrid, Barcelona, the Costa del Sol, Balearic Islands, Valencia and Seville.
The new vehicle will act as servicer of the fund and will manage and give out the portfolio of properties that the bank stayed because their owners could not afford the mortgage payment. The company is working on this project, which will be released during the next year. With this new vehicle, Moonlake Capital will compete with Servihabitat, Altamira, Solvia and Haya Real Estate, among others.
At the same time, the company also plans to create a joint venture to develop a project of 2.6 million square meters in Malaga. The company is now looking for an investor for the land, located in the technological park of the city, with which to partner to raise up to 5,000 homes, 110,000 square meters of industrial buildings and 30,000 meters of commercial premises.

On an international scale, the company plans to launch another vehicle in 2020 to invest 200 million euros in the main European capitals. Outside Europe, one of the biggest operations the company has done is the collection of 2,000 million dollars (1,792.5 million euros) from Goldman Sachs for the sovereign wealth fund of Ghana, a capital invested in multiple infrastructure projects.
Moonlake Capital is an investment advisory and consulting firm created in 2016. The company is managed by Armin Ghorbanifar and has a team of ten people. The company has two offices, one on Ricardo Soriano Avenue, in Marbella, and another on Marqués de Riscal Street, in Madrid.
